Just over one mile from the City centre of Brighton lies Brighton Marina - a triumph of engineering built on what was open sea just over 30 years ago. Now it has been extensively improved from those far off days with a modern casino, 8 screen cinema, supermarket, a waterside pub, petrol station, restaurants (including a 'floating' Chinese restaurant, a Spanish tapas bar, an Italian restaurant, McDonald's), coffee bars, boat rides around the Marina, a range of interesting shops, a sailing club – the list goes on. Obviously the mainstay of the Marina are the two harbours with up to 1600 berths where you can view yachts and boats of every description from luxury yachts to simple row boats.
